Can Marble Fireplaces be fitted against a flat wall?
A marble fireplace has an inter void called a fireplace rebate. The rebate is the internal allowance within the fire surround to recess a fire.
It is important to always check you have the correct rebate to accommodate your selected fire if you will be installing a fireplace against a flat wall.
The majority of electric fires require a 55mm rebate, except for the Dimplex optimist range which need a 160mm rebate. Gas fires are best installed with a 25mm rebate.
This means the back panel is pushed against the wall as far back as possible
