Are all fireplace surrounds delivered ready assembled or do they require technical expertise to put together and install?

In order to minimise the risk of damage during transport, the majority of fire surrounds sold over the Internet would be supplied in sections which need to be put together during the installation process. Each section of the fireplace will be delivered and bonded together. All fire surround supplied in this way are often very easy to install. It is important to note that although the fire surround is not supplied rigid, there are frequently only up-to five sections.

At creative fireplaces. We pride ourselves in manufacturing our own marble fireplaces in our Nottinghamshire-based factory, and are able to offer extremely fit to friendly fire surrounds. One fire surrounds are supplied with factory fitted brackets and simply need to be screwed into the wall or chimney.

As a UK-based company with a dedicated factory and over 35 S., we are able to offer full technical advice over the phone if needed. Marble fireplaces are often supplied with a pre-cut standard opening in the marble back panel which is 16.25 inches wide X 22.25 inches tall.

This opening will accommodate virtually all inset gas or electric fires. If you need to increase the size of the cut out to accommodate a specific fire (99.9% or more fires will fit into the standard opening) then we are happy to increase the size free of charge.

How much does it cost to install a fire surround?

Depending on the area that you live in majority of fireplace installers will charge between £100 to install a fire surround, hearth & back panel. The average price for installing a gas fireplace is £200, and the average price for installing an electric fireplace is £150. We recommend looking at the gas safe registered website to find a list of local certified installers in your area. It is important to note that all gas fireplaces must be installed by gas safe registered installer by law.
